Dave received his undergraduate degree from Lambuth University in 1956 and a Masters of Divinity in 1959 from Vanderbilt. In 1976 he returned to Vanderbilt Divinity School and earned his Doctorate of Ministry in 1980. Dr. Hilliard served three churches in Memphis – Oakhaven, Trinity and Emmanuel – before concluding his appointive ministry as superintendent of the Paducah District of the Memphis Conference in 1999. Dave and his wife Patsy have four grown children – Mark, Jennie, Holly and Hank, who serves as Youth Director at Emmanuel. They have six grandchildren.
