A Memphis Community Tradition for three decades
As the leaves turn and the air gets crisp, it’s pumpkin season again! If you’ve ever visited Emmanuel’s Pumpkin Patch in Memphis, you know it’s more than just a place to pick up pumpkins—it’s a tradition that runs deep with community spirit.
Why a Pumpkin Patch?
Why a Pumpkin Patch?
You might wonder why a church would run a pumpkin patch. The story goes back nearly 30 years with Emmanuel’s youth choir, CrossNotes. What began as a simple idea to raise funds for their annual Choir Tour has grown into a beloved community tradition.
CrossNotes isn’t just any choir. This dedicated group of youth has traveled across the United States, Canada, and even Mexico—bringing music, joy, and service wherever they go. They’ve performed in retirement facilities, youth detention centers, senior adult centers, and churches, and have even taken part in service projects like food banks and community gardens.
The pumpkin patch makes this ministry possible. Every pumpkin sold helps fund their tours, enabling the choir to keep singing, serving, and shining God’s love in communities near and far.
So when you pick out your pumpkin, know that you’re part of something much bigger—you’re helping Emmanuel’s youth share hope through music and service!

But have you ever wondered where all those pumpkins come from?
The Journey of the Pumpkins
Every year, the pumpkins at Emmanuel’s Patch are grown and transported all the way from the Navajo Nations Reservation, just
outside of Farmington, New Mexico.
These pumpkins, harvested with care, are then driven to us, offering a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and even colors. Whether you’re looking for the perfect pumpkin for carving, decorating, or baking, you’ll find them here. And let’s not forget the mums—available for purchase to complete your autumn display!
Ever wonder what it takes to set up the pumpkin patch?
Unloading Day: A True Team Effort
Unloading day is a major event! More than 50 people—youth, parents, and volunteers—gather to unload over 2,500 pumpkins. It’s a massive team effort that requires hours of hard work but is filled with laughter and community spirit.
So next time you visit Emmanuel’s Pumpkin Patch in Memphis, remember that you’re supporting more than just a fun fall tradition. You’re helping fund a choir that has been touching lives through music and service for nearly three decades.
Come by, pick up a pumpkin or two, and be part of something bigger than just a patch of pumpkins.
