Safer Sanctuaries

Safer Sanctuaries is a program designed to create congregations that are safer places where children, youth and vulnerable adults may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.

Our congregation’s purpose for establishing this Safer Sanctuaries Policy and accompanying procedures is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all of our children and youth.

Emmanuel’s Safer Sanctuaries committee requires annual review for staff and volunteers. The policy is designed for the benefit, safety and protection of not only our children and youth, but also our teachers, coaches, counselors and leaders of those children and youth, and the ministry of EUMC.

Everyone, who will be or is working with children or youth from birth to 12th grade, is required to be trained in safe the Emmanuel safer sanctuary policy every year.
